God is an artist. When the Bible first introduces him in Genesis 1, he is engaged in the act of creating. God created the world in the same manner which a novelist might create a story. The act of creating by definition requires imagination, and Christians haven’t needed imagination more than they do today. The secularization of the arts, entertainment, and popular culture has severely damaged the church’s ability to make a difference in the world. Plenty of people liked God’s Not Dead, but plenty more liked Avengers: Endgame.
